Privacy policy
Last updated 29 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Peak Running collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it. It applies to this website and to the coaching services we provide.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who we are
Peak Running provides personalised online running coaching. If you have a question about your privacy or this policy, you can reach us at hello@peakrunning.com.au.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist through this website, we collect:
- your name
- your email address
- the goal you are training for, and any description you give us if you choose Something Else
- when you are aiming to race
- how long you have been running
- how far you run each week
- whether you have asked to join our email list
If you go on to become a coaching client, we will ask for more detail so that your training can be built around you. That is likely to include your date of birth, your recent race times, your training availability, and information about current or previous injuries. Information about your injuries or your physical condition is health information, which is treated as sensitive information under the Privacy Act and is given extra protection.
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics that profile you. If we use a security check to confirm that a form submission comes from a person rather than an automated system, that provider may set a cookie strictly for that purpose.
How we collect it
We collect this information directly from you, through the waitlist form on this website or through your correspondence with us. We do not buy personal information or collect it from third parties.
You can browse the site without giving us anything. The information above is only collected if you choose to submit the form.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- let you know when coaching places open, and respond to your enquiry
- understand your running background so we can assess whether our coaching suits your goals
- build and adjust your training if you become a coaching client
- send you updates about Peak Running, but only if you have asked for them
We will not use your information for anything unrelated to coaching without asking you first. We collect health information only with your consent and only where it is reasonably necessary for us to coach you safely.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do use a small number of service providers to run the website and our email:
- Vercel, which hosts this website and processes the form submission.
- Resend, an email delivery service operated by Plus Five Five, Inc. in the United States, which sends the emails the waitlist form generates: the notification to us and the confirmation to you. Resend keeps a copy of each email it sends, and a record of its delivery, for about 30 days. Resend also holds our waitlist and email list: your name, email address, your answers on the form and which emails you asked for, so we can send you only the emails you signed up for.
- Google Workspace, which holds the inbox where your enquiry is stored.
- Cloudflare, which we may use to check that form submissions come from a person rather than an automated system.
We may also disclose your information where we are required to do so by law.
When paid coaching opens, payments will be handled by a third party payment provider. That provider processes your card details directly and we do not see or store your full card number. We will name the provider here once payments are live.
Information sent overseas
Each time the form is submitted, everything you entered, including any goal description you typed, is sent to Resend in the United States so the emails can be delivered. Our hosting, security check and inbox providers also operate internationally, so your information may be stored on or accessed from servers outside Australia, most commonly in the United States. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers who are contractually committed to protecting your information.
Marketing and how to opt out
When you join the waitlist, you agree that we can email you about Peak Running coaching, including when coaching opens. Training tips and news only go to you if you also tick the separate box to join our email list; that box starts unticked and is not required to join the waitlist. Every email we send you includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing hello@peakrunning.com.au. We action unsubscribe requests within 5 business days.
Emails that are not marketing, such as a reply to your enquiry or a message about your coaching, will still be sent to you.
How we keep it safe
Your form submission travels to us over an encrypted connection, and we pass it to our email provider over an encrypted connection. Email between providers is encrypted where the receiving mail server supports it. Access to the inbox holding enquiries is restricted and protected by multi factor authentication, and the email sending service is accessed with a restricted key that can only send email. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details for as long as we are running the waitlist and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up with you. If you ask us to remove you, we will delete your details, including from our email list held with Resend. Our email provider keeps its own copy of each email for about 30 days, after which it is deleted. Coaching records are kept for as long as we coach you and for a period afterwards where we are required or reasonably need to keep them.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Email hello@peakrunning.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request. If we refuse a request we will explain why in writing.
You can also ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Making a complaint
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first at hello@peakrunning.com.au. Set out what happened and how you would like it resolved. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to give you an answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or by calling 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
